Alexander Traugot and his late brother Valery are/were painters and masters of book illustration. They always considered their father, Georgy Traugot (1903–1961), to be their main teacher and signed their first works, created in collaboration with him, using all three of their initials in order of age – G.A.V. The sons continued this practice after his death.
