CARMINA
Seven odes by Quintus Horatius Flaccus, one of the greatest poets of the Golden Age of Roman literature, are housed, as befits a real treasure, in a casket of snow-white Carrara marble. This publication stands out not only for the bold approach to its outward appearance, but also for its unique content: original woodcuts and novel textual compositions in Latin.

In order to more fully convey the artistic expressiveness of the poet’s lofty style, the texts of the odes are printed in the original language and presented as seven typecompositions specially devised by the artist Sergei Shvemberger.
The lid of the casket is inlaid with the initials of the poet’s full name – Q.H.F. – made in patinated brass.
The casket weighs around five kilos. The book has a storage case decorated with fabric.
